Spray Dryer
Detailed Product Description
Overview
Spray drying is the most widely used industrial process for particle formation and drying. It is well suited to continuous production of dry solids in powder, granulate or agglomerate particle form from liquid feedstocks. Feedstocks can include solutions, emulsions and pumpable suspensions. The technology is ideal when the end-product must comply with precise quality standards. This regards particle size distribution, residual moisture content, bulk density and particle morphology.
It has features as follows:
1.Short drying time due to large surface area of droplet groups.
2. Powder has small granule (80 to 200 meshes)and good flow ability.
3. Large flexibility of operation.
4. Heat utilization rate is higher that of other spraying when air temperature is over 150.
5. No high requirement of factory buildings.
Working Principle
The principle of this kind of spraying drying atomizer is that liquid materials are thrown out and atomized by centrifugal force from the edge of the dish that is rotating at high speed(linear speed at 90 to 160 m/s).The whole system adopts such a style to dry, that is, hot air medium open circulation plus materials flowing concurrently.
Application Range
Spray drying has become the most important method for the dehydration of fluid foods such as milk, coffee and egg powder, and is also used extensively in the pharmaceutical and chemical industries.
Operation instruction
Pre-concentration of liquid (for more economic operation, since evaporation is expensive)
Atomization (creation of droplets)
Drying in stream of hot, dry gas (usually air)
Separation of powder from moist gas
Cooling
Packaging of product
